What your fees cover Your tuition fees pay for our core costs, including: academic and research staff student services IT facilities the Library work placements and study abroad financial support bursaries teaching support sports and arts facilities estates and facilities utility costs like maintenance, heating and cleaning repaying loans for new buildings Breakdown of University expenditure Reporting area Direct teaching costs including academic staff, technicians and non-pay teaching resources If you are a Northern Ireland student attending a higher education course at a private institution, you should be aware that for certain private institutions, you will not receive the full tuition fee loan support to cover your tuition fees.

You will be responsible for funding the difference in the additional cost of your tuition fees. You will need to find out what tuition fees are charged by the private institution and what tuition fee loan support is available.

This section describes the financial arrangements for students commencing study from September For Home and EU Undergraduate students whose studies at the University commenced before this date the arrangements are similar, but the maximum that the University can charge is significantly lower and there is no maximum fee for part-time students.

For full-time home and EU undergraduate students universities are permitted to charge whatever fee they deem to be appropriate up to a maximum amount approved by the Government. Within this maximum universities are able to vary the fees charged for different courses if they wish to do so.
