Why does stuart townsend get fired

He left very quickly. I think he was probably sad about how it turned out. And in my naivety I just thought they were going to say we'd had a great week, we love what we're seeing, love you guys, have a great weekend blah blah blah. And unfortunately they said Stuart has left the project. We were all stunned, I didn't think we could get fired at that point, I thought you were in They just said 'we will let Stuart tell you that, but he's no longer with us'.

By now, Mortensen's turn as Aragorn in Lord of the Rings has become synonymous with the films and they ultimately propelled the actor to a new level of stardom. The director wanted me and then apparently thought better of it because he really wanted someone 20 years older than me and completely different.

In the end, the year old Viggo Mortensen was handed the part, and Townsend was left licking his wounds. Still, the actor continued to work in Hollywood, although his subsequent films weren't very successful. Townsend may have lost one leading man role, but he was soon given the keys to two others. These were both high profile films, and they should have catapulted Townsend into the big leagues in Hollywood.

Sadly, both films failed. Queen Of The Damned did reasonably well at the box office, but it fell foul of movie critics. The film was given traction after the death of leading woman Aaliyah, but it is rarely mentioned today. The film was blighted with a number of problems, including creative differences between Sean Connery and the film's director, and mass flooding on one of the movie's sets. While not a total disaster, the film still did little for Townsend's career.

For the latter, Viggo Mortensen immortalized the sword-wielding heir of Isildur on-screen. But before him, director Peter Jackson brought Stuart Townsend on board, a young Irish actor with a few credits under his belt. When they axed Townsend from the film, the move shocked the remaining cast members.

No one involved with the production for Lord of the Rings denied the camaraderie on set among the cast and crew. When Stuart Townsend was part of the circle, he too felt like part of the family. I was initially cast as Corporal Hicks, and I was fired after a couple weeks of filming because I got busted for possession of drugs and Michael Biehn replaced me. One man's loss is another man's gain, but Remar's replacement wasn't happy about one thing in particular when he was handed the role.

But you definitely wouldn't know him from V For Vendetta because he was fired from the film. It's not known why he got the sack, but there are rumours that he was unhappy about having to wear a mask for the whole film and for not having a strong enough voice.
